Air Canada Welcomes Its 1st Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner
Air Canada has taken delivery of its 1st Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner that will be used on DEL and DXB routes coming online this fall. The 787-9 is a larger version of the Dreamliner 787-8 already operating in the AC fleet.
Prior to the launch of YYZ-DEL and YYZ-DXB service at the beginning of the winter schedule in November, pax will have the opportunity to preview the new aircraft on select flights between YYZ and YVR during August and between YYZ and MUC and MXP during September and October. Future deployments of the 787-9 Dreamliner will be announced as new aircraft enter service.
AC will receive a total of 29 new 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft by 2019, in addition to 8 787-8 aircraft already in operation. The Boeing 787-9 will seat 298 pax and have a range of 15,372 km, compared with the Boeing 787-8, which is configured to carry 251 pax with a range of 14,500 km.
