Now in a high-profile retail district after previously being tucked away in an industrial park, CAA Peterborough officially opened the doors to its new 5,300 sq. ft. retail space that aims to make members feel right at home. Greeters will welcome members at the door, whether they’ve come for travel planning assistance, updated passport photos, home & auto insurance, discounted movie tickets or a Tilley hat for that bucket list African safari.
Store manager Lisa Hutchinson, a 22 yr. CAA veteran, says the previous store was popular with members despite its location and the new store is drawing walk-in traffic. “It’s a very welcoming space and the clientele reaction is great. They just love it.”
That was clear during the opening event, where members buying luggage, picking up maps or trying to pick the right all-inclusive mingled with a crowd that included Peterborough MPP Jeff Leal, Peterborough Mayor Darryl Bennett, CAA South Central Ontario COO Carlos Coutinho, Kathy Kelly, Director Sales & Distribution CAA SCO & Dianne Jackson, Director Travel & Retail Product CAA SCO.
A number of suppliers were also on hand to show their support, including representatives of DeNure Tours, Rocky Mountaineer Railtours and Collette Vacations.
