How long have you been with the company? Four years – before that I worked at inbound tour operator Jonview. When I was growing up I wanted to be a flight attendant (but that was 25 years ago!)
How many people work for you? 50 within the four brands.
What, apart from this job, was your favourite one? I loved being a tour guide of castles in the Loire valley – that’s how I started in the business.
What’s your biggest extravagance? Definitely brand name clothing, shoes…I’m so bad! Gucci is my favourite.
What was the best piece of advice you ever received? “Accept what you cannot change.”
Whom do you most respect in the industry? Philippe Sureau [of Transat], because he pays a lot of attention to the people around him and has respect for everyone. You don’t always find that.
If you could sit next to anyone on a long flight who would it be? This may sound tacky but Celine Dion. I find her fascinating and think that what she’s doing in South Africa is more than singing. But if I could sit next to anyone from history, it would be General DeGaulle, to get his take on politics today.
What drives you crazy? People who lie.
What kind of car do you drive? A Mini – I love it!
Describe your perfect holiday. Big city. Friends. Shops. Entertainment.
What is going to be the industry’s biggest challenge this coming year? For sure finding experienced staff. The situation is very serious.
What do you hope to be doing in 10 years? Still promoting unknown destinations. Two of ours I especially love are Russia and Tunisia.
