Cruise Lines International Association has announced that Charles Sylvia will join the organization eff. 02MAR as Vice President of Trade Relations.
Sylvia will work directly with travel agencies and agents, focused on CLIA member engagement and retention. He will be the primary liaison to CLIA’s Diamond and Gold Premium travel agency members, comprised of the largest travel agencies, hosts and consortia, and to the sales and trade relations executives at CLIA member cruise lines.
Additionally, Sylvia will be responsible for CLIA’s agent professional development and certification programs. He will report directly to Cindy D’Aoust, Executive Vice President, Membership & Operations.
Sylvia brings more than 20 years of experience as a travel agent and in cruise marketing and sales. Most recently, he held a leadership role in client services at Access TCA, a global exhibit, meetings and events agency headquartered in Boston.
“Charlie will be a strong addition to the CLIA team. He has an extensive understanding of the travel agent and agency community as well as the cruise industry,” said D’Aoust.
“I am beyond excited to begin my role at CLIA, as I have a love for travel agents and the cruise industry. Throughout my career, I’ve been an advocate of CLIA and understand the important role CLIA plays to help agents be successful,” said Sylvia. “CLIA’s new travel agency and agent membership program offers a powerful and unique value proposition. I look forward to working with our agencies and agents to help them maximize the incentives and benefits the program delivers.”
