Analysts Upbeat On North American Cruise Booking Trends
latest North American cruise booking trends are seen as positive both forclose-in and 2016.
Suntrust's September Cruise Pricing Survey reports that overall, advertised
pricing forCCL, RCL and NCLH are
all up. There also appears to be less distressed inventory.
C. Patrick Scholes of Suntrust reports, “Changing yield management strategies
for Royaland especially Carnival
brands are very apparent in our checks, with near-in advertisedpricing growth very strong.”
Among notables, the Carnival and Seabourn brands have shown the strongest
near-in [1 to 3 months] advertised pricing increases, up 23% year-over-year and
16.5% year-over-year respectively in theSeptember
Scholes adds: “RCL is more aggressive on 2016 pricing than in the previousseveral months. NCLH advertised
pricing continues to be strong, partly driven by its mix of newships.”
