Viking Ocean Cruises concluded a
busy pre-Easter week by announcing that it has taken delivery of Viking Sea,
the company’s 2nd ship.
The ship was presented at
Fincantieri’s shipyard in Ancona. On 03APR,Viking
Seawill set sail from IST
and make her way through the Mediterranean and into the Atlantic on her way to
be officially christened 05MAY on the Thames River in Greenwich.
Following the christening,Viking Seawill spend her maiden season sailing
itineraries in Scandinavia and the Baltic, as well as the Western and Eastern

ship and preparing for the final outfitting of our 3rd ship. I am

capacity, which demonstrates how enthusiastic our guests are for

Classified as a “small ship,” the
all-verandaViking Seais a sister ship toViking Star,which launched in April 2015.
Viking’s ocean ships – and it
ordered 3 more sister ships last week - have a gross tonnage of47,800 tons, with 465 cabins
accommodating 930 pax.Viking
Seais the 2nd of
6 ocean cruise ships on order. The 3rd ship,Viking Sky, will be delivered
in early 2017; the 3 remaining yet-to-be-named ships will be delivered in late
2017, 2018 and 2020, respectively.
