It's A Bird…It's A Plane…Nope, It's A Flying Bear

A new logo designed for Khabarovsk Airport (KHV) in Russia is creating a stir among social media users. This might be because it features a flying bear.

Internet users discovered the new logo for KHV – an international hub in the Russian Far East – featuring a white bear, soaring in the blue sky.

The bear is an iconic image for Russians, as the animal is often associated with the country itself. No wonder, then, that so many people took to Photoshop to create their own version of the new logo.
These included one showing a bare-chested Russian President Vladimir Putin sitting on the bear’s back. Another shows the bear pole-dancing while a 3rd, a suggested duty-free shop sign design, features the flying bear passed out and surrounded by bottles.
Although mockery of the new logo was the prevailing tune on Russian social networks, some users actually found the new design appealing.

As one bear-liever wrote on Twitter: “I don’t care what anyone says, I LOVE the Khabarovsk Airport logo. He’s adorable. He can fly. HANDS OFF THE BEAR.”
