As one commenter to the story put it: "All inclusive" vacations next to a crocodile pond, what could possibly go wrong?"
A drunk American tourist is lucky to
be alive after he scaled the barbed wire fence of a crocodile enclosure at an
Iberostar resort in Cancun.
Paramedics say Matthew Eldsberry, 27, was attacked on Wednesday by one of the reptiles after ignoring warnings written in English and Spanish. Unfortunately, they weren't written in 'drunk.'
He was taken to a private clinic where his condition on Thursday was described
as stable. Police say he was 'drunk' when he entered the protected area by an
Iberostar Hotel Golf Course.
Dailymail.com learned that Eldsberry was a guest at the Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun All Inclusive nearby but a spokesperson at the hotel could not comment on their guest due to their privacy policy.
A commenter to the story succinctly summed up what many others were likely
thinking: “I've been drunk in my time, but not that drunk."
