Too Drunk To Drive, Too Drunk To Fly

Open Jaw

Oh, he’s a puddle alright.

Wes Scantlin, the gravel-voiced lead singer of American rock band Puddle of Mudd, had quite the busy time last weekend.

On Sunday morning, he was arrested for driving while impaired after leading police on a chase that reached speeds of 100 mph in rural Renville County, Minnesota. His blood alcohol level was reportedly .310, a prodigious result.

The day before, Scantlin was reportedly kicked off a flight from MSP to LAX for essentially being too drunk to fly.

According to a police report, the flight crew felt that Scantlin was too intoxicated, though he insisted that he was only taking pain medication.

Scantlin apparently then became a puddle of tears, telling officers “he was a rock star, and he had an important show [in Los Angeles] and didn’t want to upset his fans.”

Security officers led the teary Scantlin out of the airport and put him in a cab.

You may recall that this is the same clown who was arrested and charged with trespassing after riding the luggage carousel - twice - into a restricted area of DEN last year.

He failed to show for his court date on that stunt, so he’s facing an outstanding warrant. But wait, that’s not all: the puddle of booze was arrested In April at MKE on disorderly conduct charges and had a brief stay in the Milwaukee County Jail.
