TICO To Hold Open Forums On Travel Industry Act Review
TICO is holding a series of open forums to share information and obtain feedback on the upcoming review of the Travel Industry Act, 2002 and Ontario Regulation 26/05.
TICO says the goal of the review, led by the Ontario Government, is to:
Increase regulatory efficiency
Improve consumer protection
Reduce regulatory burden on business
TICO will be holding Open Forum Sessions to gain insight from industry members and understand the issues, challenges as well as the opportunities to enhance the legislation that regulates Ontario's travel industry.
During the forums, TICO will present information on the all-in-pricing requirement that comes into force 01JAN and will review the consultation process. TICO says it will also present a number of priority issues and welcome feedback from attendees on areas such as registration, financial requirements, the Compensation Fund, e-Commerce and education standards and more.
Forums will be held at TICO’s Mississauga offices 10JAN and 24JAN, at the Radisson Hotel Toronto East in Scarborough 11JAN, at the Delta London Armouries 26JAN and at the Four Points by Sheraton in Cambridge 08FEB.
TICO says more sessions will be held around the province in early 2017, with details to be announced shortly.
