WestJet Posts 80% November Load Factor With Traffic Up 14.4%

WS reports that the carrier filled 80% of its seats in November, an increase of 1.4 percentage points year over year. Traffic was up 14.3% year over year on capacity growth of 12.4% over the same period.

The airline flew a record 1.7 million pax in November, a year-over-year increase of 12.1% or approximately 185,000 additional pax.

"We are pleased with our 7th consecutive month of double-digit traffic growth as we flew a record number of guests and with our recent McDonald's Canada partnering announcement, our guests can now enjoy the taste of a complimentary McCafé Premium Roast Coffee wherever they are flying," said WS President & CEO Gregg Saretsky.

November was a busy month for WS as it announced the return of YHM non-stop service to YEG and YHZ as well as a new route to YWG.

The 4X-weekly service to YEG and daily service to YHZ returns 16JAN through 28OCT, 2017. The 3X-weekly service to YEG starts on 17JAN through 26OCT, 2017.

WS also announced it will begin serving AZA non-stop from YYC and YEG starting 19JAN.
