It was a very busy 2016 for AMResorts, which opened 10 resorts across its 6 brands over the past 12 months. The resorts operator ended the year with 51 open properties in 23 destinations across Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America.
“Our unique approach to the traditional all-inclusive model has been a favourite of travellers for the last 15 years, and helped fuel the growth of our 6 unique brands in 2016. We look forward to offering even more upscale resort options that cater to all ages in magnificent destinations as we continue our strategic growth in the coming year,” said Jan LaPointe, Senior Director of AMRewards and Sales & Marketing, Canada.
Every AMResorts brand added properties in 2016, with 3 each for the family-friendly Dreams and Sunscape brands, and one apiece for the Zoetry, Secrets, Breathless and Now brands.
In addition to expanding its resort portfolio, AMResorts also grew its leadership in Canada with the addition of Brian Joseph as Business Development Manager (BDM) for the Ontario region. He joined Orelbys Vigoa, BDM for Quebec and the Maritimes, and Carlo Trinidad, BDM for Western Canada, in representing AMResorts at industry events, tradeshows and destination conferences as well as hosting educational training seminars and webinars.
As AMResorts celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2016, it was the recipient of a number of industry accolades, including Travel Professionals International (TPI) “Partnership of the Year, Advisor Choice – Specialty Award.”
The new AMResorts debut comes next month with the opening of Breathless Montego Bay Resort & Spa, marking the debut of the brand on the island.
By the end of 2018, AMResorts will have 60 open resorts and over 22,000 rooms in 28 destinations.
