Bruce Parkinson, Open Jaw

AMResorts  has announced that Canadian-born Jan LaPointe  – one of the fast-growing company’s first employees -- has been promoted to vice president of strategic sales planning for  North America.

The company says the new position was created to support AMResorts’ growth efforts as the company moves towards its goal to reach 100 resorts in nearly 30 destinations by 2020. LaPointe will report to Claudio Zboznovits, VP Global Sales and Business Development.

LaPointe recently celebrated her 15th anniversary with AMResorts, and has more than 30 years of experience in the tourism industry. In her new role, she will develop and execute strategic retail sales plans to leverage the retail channel, while leading consortia relationship growth across North America.

The new position is another increase of responsibility for LaPointe, who will continue to lead the company’s sales and marketing efforts in the Canadian market. She will also continue to work to build AMRewards, the agent loyalty program which she helped launch in 2015 and today has more than 19,000 registered agents.

“The innovative thinking and deep experience of AMResorts’ leadership is the engine behind our steadfast growth, and as one of the original members of our team, Jan has been instrumental in helping us achieve the strong market position we have today,” said Colette Baruth, senior vice president of marketing, sales and distribution for AMResorts.

“Her blend of strategic thinking and relationship management to drive sales makes her a strong asset to AMResorts, and we congratulate her on this new role.”
