Pascal Prinz is the new Market Manager Canada for Switzerland Tourism, the Swiss National Tourist Office. He will assume the Toronto-based role starting on 1NOV.
Prinz will be responsible for the marketing and promotion of Switzerland as a travel, vacation and convention destination in Canada. He succeeds Evelyn Lafone, who, after three successful years in her position, was appointed District Manager Southern Germany, based in Stuttgart.
For the last four years, Prinz has been working at Switzerland Tourism in New York as Trade Manager East Coast. He also led the agent relations for North America including the development of the Switzerland Travel Academy, the new e-learning program of Switzerland Tourism, and the North American sales manual “Switzerland Yodel.”
Prinz is a marketing specialist with international experience in travel and public affairs. Before joining Switzerland Tourism, he worked as Trade Relations Manager (Europe) for the Swiss Ministry of Economic Affairs in Bern and held positions with the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Embassies of Switzerland in Berlin and Washington DC.
Switzerland Tourism has been present in Canada since 1973, with its current office on University Avenue in Toronto.
Canadian travellers generate over 100,000 arrivals and 230,000 overnights at Swiss hotels annually.
“Switzerland Tourism is committed to its presence in Canada, and we're very pleased about the continually increasing number of Canadian travellers to Switzerland. In fact, this year we will be able to welcome over a third more Canadian travellers to Switzerland than 10 years ago,” says Director North America Alex Herrmann.
The latest statistics show an increase of Canadian overnights in Switzerland of 6.8% for the first seven months of 2017, compared to the same period in 2016.
