WestJet and Hong Kong Airlines have entered into a code-share agreement which sees Hong Kong Airlines placing its HX marketing code on WS-operated flights. The two carriers are building on an existing interline agreement put in place earlier this year.

"We welcome Hong Kong Airlines as our newest codeshare partner and congratulate them on their inaugural service to Vancouver in June of this year," said Ed Sims, WestJet EVP, Commercial.

"This code-share agreement provides guests on both sides of the Pacific more choice and opportunity to experience excellent service and travel globally. We look forward to welcoming Hong Kong Airlines' guests on board and providing them with our caring WestJet service."

Li Dianchun, HX Chief Commercial Officer, said, "Our newly launched daily service between Hong Kong and Vancouver has been a great success, and this code-share agreement with WestJet, which extends our network in Canada beyond Vancouver towards Edmonton, Calgary and Toronto is the logical next step. Passengers flying with Hong Kong Airlines can now enjoy a seamless connection experience onto a WestJet flight."

HX’s daily Hong Kong-Vancouver service will allow guests to connect onto select WS flights from YVR to YYC, YEG and YYZ. Tickets can be purchased via travel agents or Hong Kong Airlines' sales offices and call centres effective immediately.
