With 12 locations across Ontario and a staff of 200, Peter and Linda Van Der Heyden’s family-owned operation under the Goliger’s Travel Plus brand has been a growing concern since it launched in 1986. Now it is becoming part of the fast-growing Vision/Direct Travel organization.
“Peter has built a great organization and we look forward to welcoming both him and his team into the Vision Travel family,” said Brian Robertson, president of Vision Travel Solutions.
“As much as we are now a global company, this acquisition will create a much stronger network of brick and mortar locations across Ontario, complementing our personalized approach to travel.”
Headquartered in Waterloo, ON, Van Der Heyden’s company specializes in leisure, corporate and group travel. There are Goliger’s Travel Plus locations in Barrie, Brantford, Cambridge, Guelph, London, Mississauga, Owen Sound, Paris, Port Hope, Stratford, Waterloo and a Hanover Travel Plus store in Hanover.
“Vision Travel’s focus on service was a key factor in this decision and their membership in Virtuoso is a perfect fit for our luxury clientele,” said Peter Van Der Heyden. “I am confident that our staff and clients will see immediate benefits of being part of Vision Travel.”
Van Der Hayden will join the leadership team of Vision Travel.
The agreement is scheduled to be finalized by 30NOV.
