Insight Commemorates Anniversary Of D-Day Landings With CDN Battlefields Tour

Insight Vacations will be commemorating the 75th anniversary of the D-Day Landings in Normandy by offering a 15-day tour to the historical sites of France and Belgium from 28MAY-10JUN, 2019.

Created specifically for Canadian clients and history buffs, this tour visits Canada’s battlefields and memorials of the First and Second World Wars, and features participation in the ceremony commemorating the landings on Juno Beach on 6JUN, 2019.

Highlights of the itinerary include:


  • Anne Frank House in Amsterdam;
  • The Canada-Poland War Museum in Adegem;
  • The Ypres Battlefields, including a visit to the Flanders Field Museum, a tour of the Tyne Cot Cemetery, St. Juien Memorial, and the town of Passchendaele;
  • The Essex Farm bunker where Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae composed ‘In Flanders Fields’;
  • The Vimy Ridge Battlefield;
  • The Battlefields of the Somme, including the Newfoundland Memorial at Beaumont-Hamel;
  • The Canadian Memorial in Courcelette, the Albert tunnel museum, and le Quesnel Memorial;
  • Dieppe and the Canadian War Cemetery;
  • The Juno Beach Centre Museum and bunkers;
  • The Falaise Battlefields
