Cuba Hits 3 Million Visitor Milestone For 1st Time

As excitement builds over the potential normalization of relations with the U.S., Cuba has announced an important tourism milestone.

The Ministry of Tourism of Cuba and The Cuba Tourist Board announced that on December 30th the island nation welcomed its 3 millionth tourist for the year, the 1st time that number has been reached.

“This milestone is the result of the hard and intense work of all our industry partners,” said the Cuba Tourist Board’s Canadian office. “We would like to express our deepest appreciation to the tour operators, travel agents, media, airlines and hotel chains, and of course to all our staff and employees of the tourist industry in Cuba,” the statement continued. “We celebrate this great news with a renewed commitment to continue increasing service standards, to continue diversifying the tourist product while being more competitive and efficient. Cuba will continue to be a safe, peaceful and healthy destination.”
