Mother’s Day Week: Johan Marjanak & Michele Rauzon

Johan Marjanak & Michele Rauzon

Johan Marjanak, Sales & New Business Manager, Western Ontario & Quebec for Travelsavers, recalls growing up with Michele Rauzon, now Vice President, National Sales with ALIO, one of the most big-hearted people in the business.

“My mother? She's very dynamic, outgoing, and with a heart of gold who will extend generosity to anyone, whether it's a stranger - or a friend she hasn't spoken to in 20 years. Charismatic, respected – and hard-working, that's her.

“She's been in the industry since I was a baby, originally with Americanada. I'd visit the office for the staff family Christmas parties and had the opportunity to meet all of the team there. My 'start' in the industry was actually helping her prepare kits for trade shows when I was 12 or 13. I loved going to those shows, it was exciting to see all the airline and cruise people. I could see how people liked and respected her even then.

“We travelled quite a bit together, from the time I was 2 years old, going to Mexico, Guadeloupe, Bermuda, cruising. Did I get blasé about it? Never! It was always a new adventure, the best of times.

“Though I really grew up in the industry, I've officially worked in it since I was 18, working in a retail agency call centre. My mother encouraged me to follow different dreams, perhaps the hotel industry, or even the music business, but travel has always been so natural for me. I've been with Travelsavers 5 months now.

“We don't travel together as much as we used to, but we're planning a trip to Europe in the fall. I still love travelling with her because she has that spirit of adventure similar to mine. She's as outgoing and friendly with people as ever.

“For me, I can see me staying in the industry for a long time. And for her? She loves what she does and I can't see her slowing down any time soon!"

Michele definitely does not know A stranger. When I met Michele she treated me as if we were long lost friends. I'm so grateful for her help but mostly her friendship. Amazing lady!

Michele and Jhan are two of the most wonderful people anyone could ever know. I have not had the pleasure of meeting either of them personally, but I do know that hearts don't grow any bigger and arms never more open than those of these two amazing people!

I've known Michelle for many years now and, although we don't see each other often, I have always considered her a dear friend. A hard working Mom with very big heart!
