IATA Reveals NDC Pilot Projects & Deployments For 2015

IATA has announced several new projects as its member airlines continue to test and evaluate New Distribution Capability schemas.

Here are the pilot projects and live deployments planned for 2015:

  • Avianca will engage in an unspecified NDC pilot
  • China Southern Airlines plans to complete a live deployment of the NDC standard covering shopping, booking and ticketing in the 2nd 1/2 of this year
  • Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes plans to embark on an NDC pilot with its passenger services system provider, Navitaire
  • Hong Kong Airlines will launch an NDC pilot in the 2nd 1/2 of 2015
  • InselAir will complete a live NDC deployment in the same timeframe, selling its flights and ancillaries to corporate users and travel agents
  • Lufthansa will complete an NDC pilot focused on the dynamic bundling of products by year-end
  • Qantas is launching an NDC pilot to distribute its Chauffeur Drive product in a 3rd party channel environment in cooperation with a partner
  • Swiss International Air Lines plan to launch a live deployment of the NDC standard covering shopping during 2015
  • Ukraine International Airways plans to launch the implementation of NDC shopping

IATA says that including these latest developments, the number of airlines that have participated in NDC pilots/deployments or announced their intent to do so has risen to 24.
