Vision Travel has announced the Canadian launch of the CSI globalVCard - the latest technology designed to support corporate travel managers through single-use electronic payment.

According to Vision, travel managers have a challenging job, especially when keeping their employees in line with travel policy compliance. Employees often use personal credit cards when booking a business trip, offering little or no corporate control over flights or upgrades.

Reconciliation and compromised cards add to the challenges as well as the risk an employee incurs when they book their travel independently, outside of the protection provided by their companies' travel management provider.

"This new card technology will make facilitating travel arrangements easier for travel managers, as well as help control fraud, policy compliance and reconciliation within the company," said Brian Robertson, COO of Vision Travel Solutions. "We're excited to be the first in Canada to offer this product as it solves a very important corporate need."

The globalVCard is a virtual card payment system that is integrated with Vision Travel's management booking software. Each reservation (air, hotel and car) is booked and paid for using a unique virtual card number that becomes invalid after each transaction and provides exact billing. This ensures that each transaction is highly secure and gives travel managers the ability to record each transaction by person, trip and/or event.

The globalVCard also features a mobile app that drives all virtual card and reservation data directly to the traveller's mobile device. The app also automatically sends a faxed authorization to hotel front desks prior to guests’ arrivals.
