McCaig Out As ACTA President

David McCaig has retired from his role as President & COO for the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA).

 

While the official date of his departure is 31AUG, it has been confirmed to Open Jaw that McCaig has cleaned out his office and will not be returning and has effectively been on leave since 05AUG.

 

McCaig has been in the Travel Industry since 1983 and involved with ACTA for over 15 years. His previous experience includes a role as the Canadian Sales Manager for Travel Trust International (TTI) and TravelPlus.

 

McCaig served on the board of the Travel Industry Advisory Group (TIAG) of the Consumer Protection Authority of B.C. and has been Chair of the CCTA (Canadian Corporate Travel Association).  He also served as Vice Chair for the World Travel Agents Associations Alliance (WTAAA).

 

ACTA has confirmed that it is actively seeking a replacement.
