Beginning today, your clients purchasing Air Transat’s Economy Class fare for travel to the United States as of 01NOV will be charged $25 for a 1st checked bag. The maximum weight of the baggage will increase from 20kg to 23kg.

The airline says the move aligns its baggage allowance policies with other Canadian carriers. TS’s no-fee policy for checked bags for all other destinations in the South and Europe remains unchanged.

Travellers booking a cruise departing from the U.S. will continue to be able to check a bag of up to 25kg free of charge. As well, clients who purchase Option Plus for extra privileges in Economy Class are entitled to 1 piece of luggage with a total weight of 28kg when travelling to the U.S.

Club Class pax will continue to have a baggage allowance of 2 pieces of luggage with a total weight of 40kg when travelling to the U.S.

The new 1st checked bag rates will apply to all TS destinations in the U.S. MCO, FLL and LAS.
