Transat Seeking Buyers For Its French, German Tour Operations

Transat says it is seeking indications of interest from 3rd parties that could lead to the sale of its tour operating business units in France and Greece.

The company says it is not in negotiations at this point and that a deal may not be found. If buyers are located, however, Transat says the transaction would have no impact on Transat Tours Canada’s transatlantic program or on TS operations and growth, including its presence in France.

Transat says it maintains its growth objectives as a leisure carrier between Europe and Canada and that any potential transaction “is aligned with the company’s 2015-2017 strategic plan, which emphasizes profitable growth in the Americas, through the development of its tour operating, distribution and hotel businesses.”

The vertically-integrated company says it does not intend to provide any further public updates regarding this matter prior to the completion of the process or unless it otherwise determines disclosure is appropriate.
