WestJet Adding Winter Routes & Boosting Existing Capacity

WestJet has announced new routes and increased frequencies on both its domestic and international routes as part of its 2016-2017 winter schedule.

  • New non-stop weekly YQR-MCO flights will commence 27OCT.
  • New flights will be added from YYZ on both domestic and international routes including Vancouver, Ottawa, Moncton, Myrtle Beach, Aruba, Kingston (Jamaica), San Jose and Liberia (Costa Rica), Port of Spain and St. Martin.
  • 41 new weekly flights will be added on a variety of routes ex YVR including: Kelowna, Prince George, Toronto, Honolulu, Cancun, Cabo San Lucas and Los Angeles.
  • Kelowna will be served by 19 additional flights per week to YVR as well as 2 additional weekly flights to YYC.
  • Service from YHZ will increase with 7 additional weekly flights to Sydney as well as a continuation of the daily flights added with this summer’s sched.  
  • A number of other seasonal services will continue for the winter sched. including YVR-YUL and YYZ-Gander, Nashville, Los Angeles & Brandon.
  • Domestic and international frequencies will be added from YYC, YEG, YQR, YSK & YWG.  
  • As previously announced, non-stop service to LGW from YYC and YYZ will operate on year-round basis.

This winter, WestJet will operate an average of 642 daily flights to 95 destinations including 36 in Canada, 25 in the U.S. and 34 in Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and Europe.
