Norwegian is adding its 6th BDM to its Canadian sales team as Fatima Da Silva is slated to join the cruise line 24OCT.

Fatima brings 17 years of travel industry experience to Norwegian and has been a Business Development Manager at Transat for the past 11 years.

“We are very excited to have Fatima join our close Norwegian family. Fatima’s territory will be Western Canada, so we are effectively dividing up the west into 2 territories. Ramon will continue with Metro Vancouver, Kelowna and Vancouver Island, while Fatima will cover everything from Langley east to Manitoba,” said Dana Gain.

For our friends in the trade, the implication is that every single travel partner in the country will now be represented by a Norwegian Business Development Manager that physically lives here. This is key, because supporting the trade in Canada requires an in-depth understanding of the market, currency and wholesaler and tour operator relationships, among other things. There are a variety of other models out there, some cruise lines use inside sales to some extent, some limit the accounts that the BDM’s can visit based on production threshold. Our BDM’s represent all accounts in the country regardless of location or production, so everyone has the same access to Norwegian’s support. This is just another example of our support to the trade in Canada, and our recognition of Canada as an important market for Norwegian,” added Gain.
