WestJet has announced October 2016 traffic results with a load factor of 79.7% during the month, an increase of 2.6 percentage points year over year.

Revenue passenger miles (RPMs), or traffic, increased 18.7% year over year, while capacity, measured in available seat miles (ASMs), grew 14.8% over the same period. The airline flew a record 1.8 million guests in October, a year-over-year increase of 14.2% or approximately 226,000 additional guests.

"We are pleased with our sixth-consecutive month of double-digit traffic growth as we achieved our second-highest October load factor and flew a record number of guests," said WestJet President and CEO Gregg Saretsky.
