Boomerang And Exotik Welcome Dan Prior
Toronto is full of consciously-hip restos. Take Lobby, for example, at the corner of Cool Vibe and Cutting Edge (a.k.a. Bloor and Avenue Road). You could pull up in a moving van, empty the place of all its furniture and fixtures, and furnish a loft apartment to die for.
Yet the lads from IFS Voyages managed to bring such a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere to their trade luncheon recently that the cool vibe warmed to a happy buzz.
The purpose of the rendez-vous was to welcome on board Dan Prior to the new position of business development manager for Ontario and the Maritimes for Boomerang and Exotik Tours, the ground-service suppliers to sister companies Intair and FunSun. On hand were reps from airlines and tourist boards as well as key retailers.
As David Boigné, Montreal-based GM for the Group pointed out, “Exotik Tours led the way in introducing Canadians to China, Russia, North Africa and many destinations which used to be extremely exotic. And over the years we’ve developed a network of suppliers around the world who are not just our business associates but our friends.”
And they’re out to make friends in the retail community in Dan’s new territory as well. His take on it? “This company has amazing potential. Agents really need to look at specialty markets and niche themselves. With consumers now comfortable booking mainstream destinations online, agents can rely on us as the experts to plan clients’ travel to emerging destinations.”
Up next? Training, trade shows and advertising. And no doubt even more exotic (or is that Exotik?) destinations from the Group.
