Their Vegas is showing.

Las Vegas... Show Me Yours!

The folks from Vegas landed in Canada recently - charming the travel trade with their warmth and predisposition for having a good time. It's amazing, for a place that does fake to perfection, they've also perfected being genuinely lovely people. They certainly have the hospitality and tourism thing down to a fine science. Together with their Canadian representatives from VoX International, they hosted some lively events delivering their message "Your Vegas Is Showing" and asked Canuck agents to "Show Me Your Vegas!"

They even gave away a free wedding - which is one of the best prizes I've ever seen. Afer all, the wedding can be the most prohibitive item keeping folks from pairing off - and it can be taken care of in one lucky draw! With all things Vegas, fantasies can become reality!

Besides the thrills, Vegas is all about the dining, the nightlife, the shopping and the spa'ing now. No more emphasis on all those crazy casinos. They still provide a draw just fine without even mentioning them. 40% of Vegas tourism revenue is still garnered from the machines and the tables - which means they are raking in almost $25 billion visitor dollars a year from all the other tourist activities they've perfected. All in a little valley that looked like kitty litter a few decades ago.

We Canadians are hooked on Vegas - we're #1 on their list for international visitation - so they really do like us a lot. And, they know we can do a lot better if we just try a little harder to have more fun and get away to Vegas more often. And, they're making that easier for us too. Their 130,000 hotel rooms are operating at about 90% capacity, so they're opening another 9,000 rooms this year at Wynn's Encore, Trump, Palazzo and others. By the time the massive City Centre project kicks in fully in 2012, they'll be offering 180,000 rooms.
