They’re Here... And, They Talk Different

Travel Counsellors launched themselves upon the Canadian scene this week in grand style with their own message on the direction they see the travel business heading. What they have to say sounds different, and it’s not just because they’re saying it with a broad midlands accent sprinkled liberally with British humour.

They’ve been around since the mid 90s and Canada is their 8th country of operation for their very selective home-based agent business model. Lynda Sinclair will be leading the Travel Counsellors charge across Canada. She was as effervescent as the Veuve Clicquot being served in welcoming a full compliment of top drawer travel industry suppliers, who had come from around town and across the country to hear the Travel Counsellors' story.

Founder and Chairman David Speakman and CEO Steven Byrne, fresh in from home base in sunny Bolton England, set down their story to a suitably impressed gathering. They do not work on the consortia model and don’t have preferred suppliers. Apparently their dynamic packaging technology, agent support and sales tracking tools are ahead of the curve. At times audible ooohs and aaahs emanated from the audience – who aren’t known for being the the easiest crowd to win over.

But, it’s the Travel Counsellors’ numbers that speak the loudest of all... 920 agents producing over $500,000,000 ...you do the math. That’s different.
