Las Vegas – So Cool It’s Hot

What can be cooler than the uber-cool Toronto club Rain?

Well, how about projecting vintage Vegas footage (think Frank Sinatra, Liz Taylor) through the club’s famous wall of rain? Add an Elvis impersonator who looks and sounds better than the original. Mix in the elite of the travel biz, and an outside temperature so cold it made us Torontonians wistful for the days when the army shoveled us out.

Très cool.

So we had to chat with the crowd – here to celebrate the season, plus VoX Travel Management’s almost six-month anniversary of promoting all things LAS – about what they love about Vegas.

The input? Franca Iuele, now with Ensemble: “I had no interest in Vegas until a few years ago and now I’ve been there 12 times. It’s a magical place.” ACV’s Rob McChlery declared, “It’s the food. It’s all different and it’s all good.” New Wave Travel’s Norm Feferman loves the energy and excitement, while Flight Centre’s Eric Sakowsky paused and said, “What don’t I like?” Interesting: not one said “Gambling.”

And they all love the shows. Says Patrice Bell, the new account exec for Canada chez VoX, “Last year for the first time the entertainment revenue exceeded the gaming revenue.” Oooooh. Can you introduce me to that Elvis impersonator?
