Yes, we are all supposed to show up and do our best at work. But sometimes it’s so nice to receive that extra accolade, that big pat on the back.
As a group of select Canadian travel professionals discovered earlier this week at the 3rd annual Travel Market Report conference in Toronto.
Attended by some 400 agents and suppliers, the conference took up much of the meeting space in the vast Sheraton Centre.
The 1st day of professional development sessions and presentations culminated in the 2nd annual ACTA-Air Canada Awards. Nominations were open to all ACTA members and were , judged by reps from Sabre, Cornerstone Insurance and Manulife. The awards were presented by ACTA Chair Mary Jane Hiebert of Canada OneTravel in Steinbach and Steve Goodfellow, Director of Sales, Eastern Canada for Air Canada, the Awards sponsor:
Leisure Travel Agent Award: Petra Buding, Marlin Travel, Kitchener
Corporate Travel Agent Award: Angie Mammoliti, Transat Travel, Toronto
Tomorrow’s Leader Award: Kemi Wells, North South Travel, Vancouver
Maguire-Wamsley Award (for the individual receiving the highest mark on the ACTA/CTM Case Studies and who works in an ACTA agency): Darren Single, Custom Travel Solutions, Ottawa
Ches Chard Award (for the individual, agency or group of agencies which demonstrate a significant commitment to professionalism, education and training): The Great Canadian Travel Company, Winnipeg.
