Andrew Hopkyns, a 30-year veteran of the travel industry and most recently Director of Business Development for AMA Travel, is retiring. Andrew started out working part-time at Wardair while still at university, and held positions with Sears, Thomas Cook and Ascot Travel before opening AMA Travel Edmonton South in 1982. Since then he has held several positions at AMA, served on the ACTA board and as president for years, and given his all to the travel community.

He is recognized by his peers as  a "visionary and marketer supreme", a gentleman, highly informed and always entertaining. He will be greatly missed, but is retiring to enjoy all the things he has not had time for to date, such as writing a book.
