In an effort to educate guests on ecological practices, the Sandos Eco Club welcomed 120 children from Science Days for Children and Youngsters to Sandos Caracol Eco Resort & Spa on Jan. 29, 2010, to share presentations on the local marine environment.

Science Days for Children and Youngster is an initiative formed by the Management of the Environment of the City Council of Playa del Carmen that provides a platform for children ages 8 to 15 years old to express their feelings concerning the marine environment through the different art mediums. 

Children whose presentations are deemed exemplary have the opportunity to represent the Delegation of Children and Youngster of the City of Playa del Carmen at International Science Days for Children and Youngsters, which is held every year at the National Aquarium of Cuba, where they will share their experiences with more than 700 children from countries around the world
