Sunwing Foundation Begins Building School In Jamaica

The Sunwing Foundation, in collaboration with the Helping Hands Jamaica Foundation and Food For The Poor Canada, began working on its 1st project – the funding and construction of a new school in Trelawny, Jamaica.

On 20APR and 21APR, Sunwing representatives along with a team of volunteers from Royalton White Sands and NexusTours began building the Spicy Hill Early Childhood Institution. Directed by a professional building contractor, the group lent a hand with painting, heavy lifting and basic carpentry.

Also present at the build was Toronto-based rapper Kardinal Offishall whose parents are both from the island.

The school is expected to open in time for the 2015/16 academic year.
