Lufthansa Preps For 60th Anniversary With Retro Livery

Lufthansa will be showing off retro livery in celebration of its 60th anniversary this April.

The airline took delivery of its 1st Boeing 747-100 in March 1970 and one of their newest planes - the Boeing 747-8i D-ABYT - will be painted in similar livery in honour of the company's 60th birthday.

Lufthansa did have a 747-200 with the D-ABYT registration delivered in 1980. It was converted into a cargo plane in 1990 and passed amongst 4 other airlines in the 2000’s before retiring in 2010.
