Meliá Celebrates 25 Years In Cuba

Twenty-five years of Meliá's presence in Cuba was celebrated at the new Meliá Jardines del Rey hotel, during FITCuba 2015, the country's tourism fair.

During the gala dinner, Vice Chairman and CEO Gabriel Escarrer Jaume said the hotel chain has an “unwavering commitment to the present and future of the Cuban tourism industry."

Meliá's 1st hotel, the Sol Palmeras, opened a quarter of a century ago and was also commemorated at FITCuba.

Meliá has 27 hotels in the country with 13,000 rooms, over 10,000 employees and 5 million stays in 2014 - 39% of the total for the whole island.
