Germany Celebrates The Season

The origins of many traditional Christmas celebrations have their basis in Germany – from Christmas trees, ornaments, tinsel and sparkling outdoor lights – as well as enjoying mulled wine while browsing outdoor Christmas markets. The GNTO invited friends to enjoy all of that recently at Toronto’s Distillery District Archeo restaurant. Over a delicious dinner we celebrated the GNTO`s success over 2015 – as Canadian visitation continues to climb.

Expressing appreciation for trade support, Antje Splettstösser, Director Marketing & Sales in Canada said, “2015 gave us a wealth of colourful aspects to present Destination Germany to Canadians. The overall marketing theme for the year, Traditions and Customs, lent itself perfectly to highlighting the roots of our rich and varied cultural background, which has tied our country together for centuries - a wonderful theme for the year in which we also celebrated the 25th anniversary of Germany’s reunification.”
