Canada has donated $5,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg as part of
CWT’s ‘Together We Can’ program. Through this program, company employees were
invited to nominate a local charitable organization to receive a monetary
donation from CWT Canada. This year, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg were
selected as the award recipient through a company-wide vote.
CWT employees Colleen Robertson and Wendy Templeman, located in Winnipeg, are involved with the organization and nominated it for the award. Both are passionate about the organization’s youth programs and have assisted the Clubs with planning and sales for fundraisers, holiday gift wrapping events and staff gatherings.
“As an employee of CWT Canada, I am thrilled the company I work for continues to invest in the communities in which we do business and especially in organizations like the Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg.” said Templeman. “Through my experience with the Clubs, I truly believe this is one of the best ways to engage with youth, keep them productively occupied after school and help build their skills for a successful life.”
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg’s mission is to provide safe, supportive places where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life. With positive role models and mentors at the forefront of their programs, children and youth have the opportunity to achieve their full potential in a safe and caring environment.
