Lufthansa Celebrates 60 Years Of Flights To Canada



On April 22nd, 1956, a Super-G Constellation flew from HAM to YUL, marking the 1st LH flight to Canada. This service was added just 1 yr. after the carrier began servicing its 1st North American destination – NYC.  

Service to Canada grew steadily with the carrier, adding service to YYZ in 1973 and to YVR in 1983. Today, LH operates 6 nonstop routes from Canada to Germany: YUL-MUC; YYZ-FRA; YYZ-MUC; YVR-FRA; YUL-FRA and YVR-MUC.

From April 2015 to March 2016, LH transported approximately 800,385 pax on Canadian routes. The most popular destinations being Frankfurt, Munich, Budapest, Rome and Delhi.
