Ethiopian Airlines Celebrates 70th Anniversary

Ethiopian Airlines Canada celebrated its 70th Anniversary last week with an event at the Port Credit Yacht Club.   

“We are putting all of our efforts forward in expanding Ethiopian Airlines’ awareness in Canada” said Birhan Abate, Ethiopian Airlines Country Manager for Canada. “Our company has grown so much over the years with many achievements that we are proud of. Canada is our focus as we continue to expand.”

Attending guests were invited to watch an ET video that highlighted several historical achievements of the airline’s 70 yr. history, from their advancements in the aviation academy, to business travel and the first all–female flight crew, which operated the Addis Ababa – Bangkok route.

Mr. Abate also shared with guests the benefits of travel to Africa from YYZ with ET. Pax have a choice of 3 weekly flights direct from YYZ to ADD, then connecting to anywhere in Africa. Ethiopian Airlines has the newest fleet in Africa, including 16 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, 2 Airbus 350-900, a total of 82 aircraft with 51 new aircraft on order, a member of the Star Alliance family since 2011 and today more than 7 million pax travel with ET each year. .
