Calgary Couple Say "I Do" At YYC

Calgary residents Jeannine Beck, 27 and Fareed Rawji, 32, arrived at YYC  the other day single, but boarded their Sunwing plane as a married couple.

The Calgary couple became the first-ever to have a wedding ceremony in YYC’s new International Terminal. “Originally, we were looking at having a destination wedding, but wanted something that was truly unique,” the bride-to-be said. “Rather than having our wedding ceremony in Mexico, we thought, ‘let’s get married in Calgary in a colourful way’.” We reached out to Sunwing and the airport, who immediately jumped in and helped us organize an amazing ceremony that we and our guests will never forget. What a memorable way to start our honeymoon and life together!”

Jacqueline Grossman, Senior Director of Marketing for Sunwing Vacations: “When we first heard about Fareed and Jeannine’s request we knew immediately we had to participate. Destination weddings are a growing trend, and on May 3rd we simply proved that the journey can be just as fun.”

The ceremony took place in YYC’s new International Terminal departures check-in hall, coincidentally as Sunwing marks its 10-year anniversary flying out of the gateway.
