Tour East Celebrates Listing On Hong Kong Stock Exchange

Open Jaw’s Nina Slawek interviews Tour East leaders Rita Tsang and Annie Tsu.

Company directors celebrate Hong Kong Stock Exchange listing with a toast.

It’s appropriate that the first Canadian travel company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange is named CTEH, or should that be CT EH?

Tour East Holidays celebrated its achievement of earning a listing on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange with a gala dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto.

The 43-year old Tour East is run by sisters and founders Rita Tsang, Chairperson, and Annie Tsu, President & CEO. The 160 guests were a mix of employees, airline and other partners and media.

Rita, Annie and other Tour East directors raised a toast to the milestone of becoming the first Canadian travel company to earn a listing on the prestigious Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

The actual listing event took place 28JUN in Hong Kong. “But something was missing,” said Tsang. “All of you,” she told the invited guests.

On 43 years of building Tour East, Tsang had this to say: "Nothing is easy, but I've certainly had my share of fun. We've had a great past, now we look forward to an even greater future."

It was a privilege for Open Jaw to be part of the gracious celebration, and we wish the company many more years of success.
