WestJetters Build 5 New Homes In The D.R.

WestJet’s annual humanitarian trip just wrapped up (26OCT-3NOV) and this year 50 WestJetters built homes for five families living in extreme poverty in the community of La Union in Puerto Plata.

Since the company’s first humanitarian trip in APR 2012, more than 400 WestJetters have volunteered their time to build 38 new homes for deserving families, with extra fundraising efforts also contributing to various community enhancement projects. This year, participants raised over $17,000 of extra funds that were topped up to $22,000 by WestJet and used to create paved pathways throughout La Union, improving walkability, water dispersion and the overall health and safety of the community.

"WestJet's caring culture has always extended beyond our aircraft and we're incredibly proud of the WestJetters who volunteer their time and talents to make this important annual trip possible," said Richard Bartrem, WestJet vice president marketing communications. "By working together with Live Different [WestJet's on-the-ground charitable partner in the Puerto Plata area] and the La Union community, we are able to enrich the lives of deserving families in the WestJet world."

WOW Veronica....Thats what you have to say about people doing good for others....SO WHAT your clients have to pay baggage fees, get used to it...they have to with any airline....but THIS company is giving back....so yea next time you gripe about a bag fee or need to explain a bag fee to a client, you can let them know that in actuality they are building a home for someone who is a lot less fortunate then they are....and you can explain to them that the 4 walls of their 5* resort is actually in no way the country they are visiting....let that sink in.

Your comment honestly disgusts me. If I were a client and saw that i would NEVER book with you. Such a idiotic comment.
