TPI advisor Corry Ticknor was awarded the Maguire-Wamsley award at the annual Travel Agency Leadership Awards at Travel Market Place in Toronto on 12JUN.

The Travel Agency Leadership Awards, which are given in partnership with Air Canada, recognize individuals who have made a positive impact on the Canadian travel industry as a whole.

The Maguire-Wamsley award showcased an agent who achieved the overall highest combined grade of the CTM designation process which consists of an exam, two written case studies, performance assessment and phone interview with ACTA.

"After 21 years of work and personal travel-related experience in this incredible industry, I truly believe in professional development and I encourage others to do the same," said Ticknor of Gotta Go Travel TPI. "Anyone can become a Travel Advisor, but we should all strive to take it to the next level by investing in our careers, ourselves and our industry. Being able to say I’m a Certified Travel Consultant and Certified Travel Manager has helped me establish credibility with my clients and the local community. I take great pride in my accomplishments and so pleased to be recognized with the Maguire-Wamsley award."

Zeina Gedeon, CEO of TPI, said that the agency puts a strong emphasis on continued education.

"Over 40% of our TPI Advisors have achieved their professional designation with ACTA and many other advisors in the process of taking their exams," said Gedeon. “We are all so proud of Corry. Last year was a year filled with growth for her with the expansion to a storefront agency, she goes above and beyond in all she does and her commitment to continued professional development is commendable."
