OJ ON LOCATION – Music, Dancing & Fireworks Close Out ACV Curaçao Mega FAM
A host of live music, dance performances and even fireworks marked the close of Air Canada Vacations’ Mega FAM in Curaçao yesterday night at a beachfront gala dinner party at Sunscape Curaçao Resort, Spa & Casino.

Joining the ACV party were officials from some of ACV’s partner resorts on the island, as well as from the Curaçao Tourist Board, including its CEO, Paul Pennicook.
“I want to really say thanks to Air Canada Vacations for having selected Curaçao as one of the few islands to have done a Mega FAM this year,” said Pennicook during his address at the gala. “We’re very pleased to see that in your case, the majority of you are coming to this destination for the first time and the reason we’re so excited about it is that we launched a new branding campaign last year where the tagline is 'feel it for yourself.' What you have been doing over the last few days is feeling Curaçao for yourself. We’re not as known as some of the other islands in the region and that’s why we’re very thankful that this island was chosen to do this Mega FAM.”
Even before leaving the host hotel, agents were buzzing about the soon-to-open Dreams Curaçao Resort Spa & Casino. When it launches on 15DEC, the property will be the first five-star all-inclusive in all of Curaçao.

The expectations were high for Dreams and for most agents, the resort lived up to their expectations.

Chelsie Rouck with the ACV groups department, who already has a group and a wedding party booked at Dreams Curaçao, said she liked that the resort had a few options for wedding locations – four to be exact.
For Justine Delaney and Liz Liabotis, both with Vacations With Kids in Toronto, it all came back to the “good service” and reputation of the Dreams brand, not to mention the resort’s proximity to downtown Willemstad and seven restaurant options.
Another standout for the agents was Floris Suite Hotel, Spa & Beach Club, an all-suite property that is LGBTQ-focused and the sole adult-only resort on the island.
In fact, this was ACV Area Sales Manager Aaron Crawford’s favourite resort in Curaçao for its boutique feel, lush grounds and LGBTQ-friendliness.
Floris will be closing for approximately four months mid-APR for renovations and will re-emerge as a Dreams Preferred Club property. Additionally, the adjacent Moomba Beach Club Resort will be torn down in the spring and replaced with 50 Spazio pods, also becoming part of the Preferred Club at Dreams (more on that later!).

The agents also visited Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort (which just opened about three weeks ago), Livingstone Jan Thiel Resort, Blue Bay Curaçao Golf & Beach Resort and Avila Beach Hotel.
