Gus Antorcha Is HAL's New President
Gus Antorcha, new president of Holland America Line.
Gus Antorcha, currently chief operations officer for Carnival Cruise Line, has been named president of Holland America Line, effective immediately.
In his new role, Antorcha will guide HAL’s return to cruise operations and plan for future growth, including sales and marketing, revenue management, deployment and itinerary planning, public relations, guest services operations and strategic planning.
Antorcha is an an industry veteran with over nine years of service at Carnival Cruise Line. Prior to becoming COO, Antorcha served as Carnival's executive vice president, guest services, and senior vice president, guest commerce.
Antorcha will report directly to Stein Kruse, group CEO of Holland America Group and Carnival UK.
“I am eager to begin working toward our future with the dedicated and talented people that have been important in establishing the brand’s reputation as the go-to cruise line for cultural immersion,” Antorcha said.
“Likewise, I look forward to collaborating with our travel advisor community to continue supporting them and helping them build their Holland America Line business.”
Carnival also announced Neil Palomba, currently president of the company’s Italy-based Costa Cruises, has been named executive vice president and chief operations officer for Carnival Cruise Line, effective immediately.

Hopefully he will be able to restore HAL to its former high quality of service, that Ashford let deteriorate.
