After a backlash from cruisers, the room service changes that Carnival Cruise Line had announced for mid-January have been put on hold.
Brand ambassador and senior cruise director John Heald said in a Facebook posting on Sunday that the line is “in the process of making some adjustments to that plan to balance the interests of our guests with our efforts to reduce food waste costs."
Heald said that for the time being there will be no changes "until we finalize a plan that will I will communicate to you all."
Carnival had been set to implement an a la carte all-day room service menu in which items cost US$2 to US$6 each, with the exception of continental breakfast.
