About 1,300 passengers and crew are being evacuated from the Viking Sea cruise ship off Norway, Norwegian emergency services said.CNN reports that the ship sent a distress signal due to "engine problems in bad weather," according to Borghild Eldoen, a spokeswoman for the Joint Rescue Centre for Southern Norway. About 103 people had been airlifted as of 2:30 p.m. ET, Eldoen said. Eight people were brought ashore with "minor injuries," she said. The ship, in rough seas in the Hustadvika area on the western coast of Norway, is working to get more than one engine running, the rescue center said on Twitter. The ship is secured with only one anchor and rescuers are trying to ensure it remains secure and doesn't drift. "If successful, we can continue working on the engines," Eldoen said.
