RCCL To Protect Commissions In ‘Cruise With Confidence’ Program

Cruise Week

Cruise Week reports that among all the notifications that agents are receiving from cruise lines during the coronavirus crisis, this one really stood out.

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. informed agents today that it will protect commissions on transactions involved with its Cruise With Confidence Program. Participants are RCI, Celebrity, Azamara and Silversea.

"Royal Caribbean rocks," emailed in an elated cruise advisor, asking other cruise companies to follow suite.

In its statement regarding the updated Cruise With Confidence Program, Royal said, "We initially communicated that the commissions would be paid on your clients' future booking where the FCC is applied."

That has been tweaked. "Should your clients elect to take advantage of the Cruise With Confidence program and are opting for a Future Cruise Credit in the full amount paid, your earned commission will now be protected on both the cancelled booking and the future reservation where the FCC is redeemed."
