Celebrity Joins the Ranks of All Inclusive Cruise Lines

“Today, nothing is more luxurious than when things are extra simple and extra special. We wanted to bring that big wonderful feeling of ‘everything is taken care of’ to life for our guests.”
That’s how Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises, introduced the line’s new ‘Always Included’ pricing.
Simplifying budgeting for travelers and booking for advisors, instead of differing promotions and packages, Celebrity is including drinks, wi-fi and even tips on all new bookings from 17NOV (except its Galapagos itineraries). ‘Always Included’ looks like this:
Unlimited Drinks– Classic cocktails, wines by the glass, beer, sodas, specialty coffees and teas, juices and bottled water can be fully enjoyed without worrying about the tab.
Unlimited WiFi– Free, always-on connection to social media, email and the web, allows guests to surf the net to their heart’s desire.
Daily Gratuities– Tips are taken care of allowing guests to relax and enjoy the warm service delivered by Celebrity’s exceptional crew, knowing that the crew behind the superior service are also being taken care of.
In cruising, ‘all inclusive’ pricing is only normally found at the very top end of the ultra luxury lines with small and mid-sized ships. Silversea, Seabourn, Crystal Cruises, Scenic, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, and Atlas Ocean Voyages launching in 2021, are among those ultra-luxury cruise lines that include wine and spirits, gratuities, internet, and in some cases, specialty restaurants, butler service, even flights and shore excursions.
In Celebrity’s case, there are upgrades to its base all-inclusive pricing:
‘Always Included’ is the automatic standard.
The ‘Elevate’ package expands inclusions to unlimitedpremiumdrinksand adds shore excursions up to $200USD per person.
The ‘Indulge’ package is Elevate topped up even further with unlimitedstreamingWi-Fi, as well as$200USD per persononboard credit.
All guests in the ‘Retreat’ ‘luxury ship within a ship’, all-suite area with private restaurant, lounge, and sundeck, automatically receive ‘Indulge’ level of all-inclusive amenities with their booking.
‘Always Included’ pricing has Celebrity knocking on the door of the ‘luxury, all-inclusive’ cruising club – but at the big ship level.
And it coincides with the launch of the second of its new, 3000-guest ‘Edge’ class of ships.
Celebrity Apex has recently arrived in Florida, joining its sister ship the Celebrity Edge. Both stand out at sea with their ‘Magic Carpet’ cantilevered, multi-use venue suspended off the side of the ship.
Focus on leading-edge, contemporary design, an on-trend, upscale resort atmosphere and lifestyle and now pricing that’s all-inclusive… Celebrity Cruises calls it ‘New Luxury’, and it’s starting to feel like the cruise line is headed in the direction of carving out its own, distinctive category of cruising.
